Designing a new coat is hard work!
This is from Der Neue Schnitt, issue 12, 1950. I shall be combining navy twill with sage green herringbone on this to make it a striking coat with both body and soft folds. You’ll have to wait and see how that goes! š Here is the detailed drawing and description from the magazine (click to enlarge).
Oh I like the style! Will look forward to seeing the final product. According to Roxy, you’ve selected very comfortable fabrics.

Roxy has been playing double ball football while carrying a large stuffed rabbit in her mouth. The cats were watching with interest. š

I love the design! Your chosen fabrics and colors sound wonderful. You have a dedicated fabric tester, too. š

Those fabrics are the ones on the table, but with all the different lights around, you can’t see the colours properly – the camera got confused. š I am actually making two coats – the other one is that black and red check there in the background. In a different style, of course. And I just finished salvaging a UFO coat that’s been hanging unfinished for 5 years… I guess I’m going coat-crazy here! Plus a steampunk Victorian army coat for my dearest other half… Not that there are any social events on the horizon, but one can hope that some day… you know. š

I love creative coats, so I say design away! I know what you mean about designing things that don’t have an occasion to be worn right now. It’s frustrating!
